R2v3 & RIOS Certified

Our processes are audited by an independent, ANAB-accredited registrar — not self-declared. Here are the certificates, in full, for you and your compliance team.

R2v3 Active

Sustainable Electronics Reuse & Recycling (R2) Standard v3

The leading global standard for responsible electronics reuse and recycling. It governs how we sanitize data-bearing devices, test used equipment for reuse, and vet every downstream vendor that handles your material.

RIOS Active

Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS™) Rev. 2016

An integrated quality, environmental, health and safety management system built specifically for the recycling industry. RIOS is the operational backbone behind our R2 certification: documented procedures, trained staff and measurable continuous improvement.

Why it matters

What certification actually gets you

A certificate on the wall is only useful if it changes how your assets are handled. Here is what ours guarantees.

Your data is provably erased

Data sanitization sits inside our audited scope, assessed against the R2v3 data sanitization requirements. Every data-bearing device follows a documented, repeatable erasure procedure — and you receive the certificate of sanitization for your records.

Every downstream vendor is vetted

R2 requires us to know and audit the full downstream recycling chain — not just the next stop. Your material never disappears into an unvetted broker, and we can show you exactly where it went.

Nothing is landfilled or dumped offshore

The standard sets strict rules on how focus materials are handled and where they are allowed to go. Your retired IT stays out of landfills and out of informal overseas scrapyards — and reusable equipment gets tested and reused first.

Audited, not self-declared

Perry Johnson Registrars is accredited by ANAB, the ANSI National Accreditation Board. Our certification stays valid only through ongoing surveillance audits, so it reflects how we operate today — not a one-time box-tick.

Certified scope

Exactly what our certification covers

Scope is the detail most compliance teams check first — a certificate only means something for the activities it actually names. This is the scope printed on both of our certificates, word for word:

Downstream Vendor Management, Logical Data Sanitization, and Testing of Used Electronics

Appendices A, B and C apply to our single facility at 10701 King William Dr, Dallas, TX 75220.

A
Downstream Recycling Chain

We track and audit where your material travels after it leaves us, through the entire downstream chain.

B
Data Sanitization (logical)

Software-based erasure of data-bearing devices, performed and verified to the R2v3 data sanitization requirements.

C
Test and Repair (test only)

Functional testing of used electronics, so working equipment is returned to use instead of being shredded.

Need documentation for your compliance team?

We'll send our current certificates, insurance, and a sample certificate of data sanitization and chain-of-custody report — usually the same business day.
